Unique NightTime Pool Party Ideas

The calendar may say fall is upon us, but there are still a few weeks left to squeeze out those last parts of summer fun! Even in the evening or at night, the weather is still nice enough to enjoy yourself out by the pool. If you've never had a pool party at night, it's time to start! Here are some nighttime party ideas to have at swimming pools that you've never thought of before.

Poolside S’Mores Without a Fire Pit

S'mores are a classic summer treat that everyone loves, but having a big fire outside to make them can get too hot and uncomfortable for your guests.

For a great summer alternative, line the terra cotta pot of your choice with foil and add charcoals and lighter fluid if needed. Light it up and you have a fire on a much smaller scale that won't get nearly as hot. It's also portable enough to bring close to the water so when you're done with your s'more, you can jump in!

Bring plenty of chocolate, marshmallows, graham crackers, and roasting sticks for everyone. For an extra twist, bring a variety of candy bars in addition to plain chocolate bars. That way everyone can choose their favorite and have a new and unique version of their old favorite.

Dive-in Movie

Forget about drive-in movies—what's more relaxing than floating in the water while enjoying a great movie with friends? Set up a projector by the pool and get enough floating loungers for everyone.

For those who'd rather watch on dry land, set up some pillows and blankets in the yard so everyone will be comfortable.

If you don't have a screen, a white sheet hung on the side of the house or between 2 trees will work great. Be careful with using the projector around the water, and don't forget the popcorn!

Neon Glow Party

Whether you're young or just young at heart, there's something exciting about seeing endless neon glow sticks surrounding a nighttime pool party.

If you're hosting a dinner at your pool party, line the plates with glow necklaces and put bracelets around the cups. Add glow sticks to clear drink containers and throw some in the pool as well! When it comes to neon, you can never have too much!

You can also decorate the trees and shrubs by hanging up glowing jars. Make the jars by emptying the contents of a glow stick into a mason jar, add a little glitter, cover, and shake. You'll not only have the coolest pool around, but the jars will add a little touch of magic that will last for hours.

Couples Pool Party

If you and your significant other love hanging out with other couples, this is a great party that all couples are sure to enjoy. Give your pool a romantic and whimsical look by placing floating candles on the water—the more the better!

Serve fancy hors d'oeuvres and chocolate-covered strawberries poolside. If you're not excited about the thought of having open flames everywhere, there are flame-free versions of floating candles as well.
