          Trusted Pool Contractor

          Hottest Pool Trends for 2017

If you’re thinking about finally installing a pool, this year is the year to do it. Several hot trends are currently taking over the pool industry. Swimming pool contractors in Jonesboro are incorporating new features like beach entries, infinity edges, and even fire into their designs. Here are five of the hottest trends for 2017 from the experts at Hilltop Pools.

          Beach Access

Pools with a sloping entry have become increasingly more popular in the pool industry this year. This style resembles a beach with a sloping floor that starts with a few inches of shallow water before gradually dropping into the deep end. The beach-style entry is great for just getting your feet wet while lounging in the shallows. It’s also perfect for little ones who want to get in on the summer fun.

          Infinity Edge

Made popular by luxury hotels, pools with an infinity edge are making their way into homes across the country. The infinity-style works especially well in above ground pools or sloping backyards with a beautiful vista. Water levels are high enough to spill over the edge of the pool into a catch trough where the water is then cycled back into the water supply. It creates the illusion the pool is truly endless, merging with the horizon.

          Splash Pads

Splash pads, like those seen at popular water parks, are easy to incorporate into your backyard even if you don’t have a pool. Splash pads usually incorporate slip-resistant rubber tiles so it's safe for the kids to run and jump on without fear of bumps and bruises. Pipes and water jets under the tiles shoot water up into the air at random intervals. When not in use, the splash pad looks like a regular patio surface.

          Decorative Tile

Innovations in the home design industry are making decorative tile more affordable, so much so that many homeowners are incorporating it into their pools. Glass tile is especially popular this year and it comes in a plethora of colors and styles. Use decorative tile around the edge of your pool or create a beautiful mural at the bottom. Tile is an easy and affordable way to customize your pool and patio deck. It's also easy to clean, maintain, and replace if need be.

          Fire Accents

Home design experts have received a lot of requests for decorative accents that incorporate fire into their backyard pools. The fire element adds a certain level of luxury, the likes of which you'd find in resort hotels and luxury spas. Not only does fire add a beautiful effect to an otherwise aquatic environment, it also adds year-round functionality to your backyard. During the colder months when your pool is dormant, you can still sit outside around an ornate fire pit and stargaze with friends and family. For a more grandiose look, position Grecian-style braziers around the edges of your pool or garden. Decorative fire displays usually run off a propane system. They’re safe to use especially when paired with a convenient remote control.

These are just a few of the most requested pool features for pools this year. For a custom pool design, your local pool company in Jonesboro can help create your personal backyard paradise.
