          Trusted Pool Contractor

Costs to Consider when Building a Swimming Pool

When you've contacted the pool builders and stared thinking about your swimming pool, one of the most important things to consider is the cost. You need to make sure that you have the budget for the pool of your dreams. You should also know what it takes to maintain your pool.

          Swimming Pool

Here are some of the costs to consider while you plan for your pool:

          Pool Installation

The most expensive part of paying for the pool is the actual installation. The cost will vary depending on the materials that are used to build your pool. On average, vinyl pool liners will cost around $18,000, fiberglass pool liners will cost around $20,000, and the concrete and gunite pools can cost anywhere from $20,000 to $50,000. The cost of installation won't only cover the liner or other materials; it also covers the costs of excavating the land, creating the pool wall, adding the gravel backfill, the plumbing, and more.

          Landscaping

You can't build a pool without considering the land directly around your pool. You'll need to have the decking installed, which is typically done by the company which builds your pool. Then, you'll need to have a fence put around the pool to protect small children from falling in and prevent animals from getting into your pool, too. Then, you can consider landscaping the area with flowers, bushes, and other plants. The price of all of these things will vary depending on the types that you choose.

          Pool Accessories

Pool accessories can cost you several hundred or even several thousand dollars, depending on what you decide to buy. For starters, you'll need to purchase pool pumps, ladders, filters, cleaning tools, and brushes. You should have a cover to place over your pool, especially during the winter. You can choose to add handrails, thermometers, lighting, and heaters, too.

          Chemicals

In order to maintain your pool, you're going to have to purchase chemicals to help keep your pool in great condition. For example, you'll need to purchase chlorine and brome to help keep the pool clean. You'll also need pH testing strips to help you determine what chemicals you'll need to keep the water at the right levels. There are other chemicals that you can use to prepare your pool for winter, remove stains, and help with other issues in your pool.

          Add features your pool

          Fun

When installing your pool, you may want to add features, such as a diving board or slide. You may want to add lounge chairs and umbrellas to enjoy around your pool. You could also purchase pool toys, such as diving sticks, inner tubes, beach balls, or other items that your household and your guests can use when playing in the pool.
