HILLTOP POOLS AND SPAS, INC. has led the pool and spa industry with such features as custom grottos, custom slides, Eco Select Smart Phone and Chemical control features and a number of other industry superlatives. We offer custom residential concrete pools, custom commercial concrete pools, Graphex vinyl liner pools and major renovations. It has been our privilege to have been in the swimming pool construction business since 1976 with the same name, the same location, and the same local ownership. During our many years in business, hundreds of companies have come and gone in the Georgia market. Our longevity has allowed us to observe every “trick in the book” as far as how other pool companies provide prices for swimming pools. Some of our competitors have actually placed their letterhead on our contracts and information. This is against the law due to proprietary interests.

One of the many things we have learned has been that we can compete favorably on price with every company that installs swimming pools…even the new ones…who are plentiful each year. We can also predict the longevity potential of companies based on their price structure. There are even a few “trick’s” played on unwary customers by even “reputable” national companies that cause a pool price to be too good to be true. Evaluate these and other concerns when doing a cost comparison.

1. We are a going concern with a business office and human beings answering the phones 12 months a year.
2. We have full insurance coverage (general liability, vehicle liability, completed operations and most importantly – workman’s compensation) and licensing. We can have you a named insured if you wish.
3. We pay our employees competitive wages and benefits and they stay with our company.
4. Most companies focus on perimeter footage and do not fully disclose square footage/surface area.
5. Watch for inflated surface area or perimeter footage size.
6. Do not allow putting the surface skimmer and return inlet next to each other to save on plumbing costs.
7. Placing the filtration off the corner of the concrete deck – very unattractive, usually an extra electric cost to the customers, all for the pool builder’s convenience.
8. Installing fewer surface skimmers and return inlets.
9. Using poured concrete coping rather than rock or brick.
10. Selling mineral systems that have high profit margins and disposable cartridges.
11. Omitting certain components.
12. Offering non-transferable or limited, material only warranties on products.
13. Reducing the size of the filter.
14. Overlooking job site conditions – dirt hauling, retaining walls, etc.
15. Misleading comparisons
16. False comparisons
17. The “fine print”
18. Partial disclosures until the contract is signed
19. False claims of experience and/or longevity
20. Numerous company names or reopening under another name

We have a project manager that will be at every major phase of the installation process. These phases vary based on the type of pool you purchase (concrete or vinyl). We also have a Coordinator of Production and Field Services who is in our office and can be reached on a daily basis. The Coordinator of Production and Field Services handles the construction scheduling.

There are several options for financing a swimming pool and/or spa. First, if you have equity in your home, you may consider a home equity line of credit (HELOC). Also, refinancing your home at a lower interest rate may provide cash that can be used to build the pool.

Secondly, there a several sources for unsecured pool loans. We are an authorized dealer for the following:

LightStream Financing (www.lightstream.com)

Lending Club (www.lendingclub.com)

These loans usually have a higher interest rate. Most unsecured loan sources require a credit score of 680 or higher to qualify. If the loan is a pay upon completion (PUC), Hilltop Pools & Spas, Inc. will charge a small fee to carry the construction costs through completion of the pool. This period of completion is typically sixty (60) calendar days from your application date. Your personal bank or credit union may also do unsecured loans for you. Unsecured loans usually have a maximum loan amount of approximately $30,000 - $35,000.

Finally, for short term financing, Hilltop Pools & Spas, Inc. accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and PayPal. The only charge involved is a small fee equal to the expense we incur to use that particular credit carrier.

Extended Warranty Plan

DURATION OF OWNERSHIP/TRANSFERABLE
NON-PRORATED/INCLUDES LABOR AND MATERIALS

Concrete Pools

POOL SHELL – Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. warrants to any owner, for the duration of their ownership of the pool, that if the pool shell fails to retain water due to a defect in material, then Hilltop Pools will restore the pool to retain water at no charge to the owner for either labor or materials. This warranty is not pro-rated and may be transferred to subsequent owners of the pool by the original purchaser.

POOL INTERIOR – Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. warrants the plaster (marcite) interior to the pool owner for a period of two (2) years from the date the pool is filling with water. This warranty does not include hose marks, improper chemical use, stopping the water upon filling, or the quality of the water furnished by the owner. Pebble products along with other finishes may carry a longer warranty and will be governed by the warranty in effect at the time of the installation.

POOL TILE – Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. warrants the pool tile for a period of two (2) years from the date of the tile installation.

POOL COMPONENTS – Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. warrants all pool components including pumps, filters, ladders, diving boards, slides, standard fittings, and accessories used in the installation of the pool for a period of two (2) years. Some pool parts may carry a longer manufacturers warranty and after the two (2) year expiration period these warranties would apply and will be governed by the terms of those warranties. Filter tanks will be governed by the terms of the manufacturer’s extended warranty. Corrosion, pitting, scale, or any damage caused by improper chemical balance is specifically excluded from any warranty claims. All electric components, including but not limited to lights, remote controls, circuit boards, cells, timers, freeze guards, bulbs, etc. are specifically warranted for one (1) year. Lightning strikes, surges, misuse or abuse of any type is not warrantable on electronic components.

POOL CONSTRUCTION – Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. warrants the pool construction for a period of two (2) years from the time the pool is filling with water. The pool construction shall consist of any situation directly related to the workmanship of Hilltop Pools. Concrete products are specifically not warrantable.

POOL PLUMBING – Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. warrants the underground pool plumbing for a period of five (5) years from the time the pool is filling with water. Freeze damage to any plumbing due to failure to winterize or improper winterizing is specifically not warrantable. Plumbing that is above the ground is warranted for one (1) year and not warranted if freeze cracks occur or if the pump has run dry without water prime, thus melting the fittings due to overheating.

Vinyl Liner Pools

POOL WALL STRUCTURES – Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. warrants to any owner for the duration of their ownership of the pool, that if a Pacific Structural Graphex Wall Panel, brace, or fastener fails beyond use due to a manufacturing or material defect, then Hilltop Pools will, at its option, repair or replace the parodect at no charge to the owner for labor or materials. This warranty is not pro-rated. In order for this warranty to be in force or if any warranty claim is made then all terms, provisions, limitations, and exclusions must prevail. This warranty is coexistent with the Pacific Graphex Wall Panel Showcase Builder Lifetime Warranty offered by Pacific Industries, Inc. and the manufacturer’s warranty must be registered in order for this extended warranty to be in force or for any claims to occur. All other wall panels, including polymer walls, wood walls, fiberglass walls, steel walls, concrete walls, or an other type of wall structure shall be governed by the respective dealer or manufacturers limited, pro-rated, non-labor, material only warranty because of the limited structural integrity and longevity of these products.

VINYL LINER SEAMS – Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. warrants to any owner, for the duration of their ownership of the vinyl liner, that if a liner seam should separate or fail due to a manufacturing or material defect, then Hilltop Pools will, at its option, repair or replace the liner at no charge to the owner for labor or materials. This warranty is not pro-rated. In the event the liner cannot be repaired and same is replaced, the replacement liner will be a design and material then in current and normal use by Hilltop Pools. This warranty is not applicable to fading, stains, discoloring, trim material, decorative printing, tears, punctures, chlorine bleaching, or any improper use of chemicals. Draining and refilling of pool without authorized supervision will void all liner warranties due to the risk of liner damage upon refilling the pool. Damage caused by ground or surface water that gets under the liner either by natural conditions or a tear in the liner is not warranted. A vinyl liner seam shall be defined as that overlap area that has been welded at the factory. Tears that may occur next to the overlap area are not warranted. In order for this warranty to be in force or if any warranty claim is made then all terms, provisions, limitations, and exclusions must prevail. This warranty is coexistent with any Vinyl Liner Swimming Pool Warranty offered by the manufacturer and the manufacturer’s warranty must be properly registered in order for this extended warranty to be in force or for any claims to occur. Older liners that tear or fail after they are repaired are not warranted due to the natural loss of elasticity because of their age. The average, natural life of a vinyl liner is approximately twelve (12) years. The replacement of a vinyl liner typically occurs due to natural aging such as fading or brittleness. Thicker liners (30 mil) are specifically excluded from this extended warranty duration due to elasticity limitations.

WALK-IN STEPS – Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. warrants to any owner, for the duration of their ownership of the pool, that if a walk-in step fails beyond use due to a manufacturing or material defect then Hilltop Pools will, at its option, repair or replace the steps at no charge to the owner for labor or materials. This warranty is not pro-rated. In order for this warranty to be in force or if any warranty claim is made then all terms, provisions, limitations, and exclusions must prevail. This warranty is coexistent with the Pacific Showcase Builder Walk-In Step Warranty offered by Pacific Industries, Inc. and the Pacific warranty must be registered in order for this extended warranty to be in force or for any claims to occur. Acrylic fiberglass steps are specifically excluded from this warranty duration due to longevity and structural limitations.

POOL COMPONENTS – Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. warrants all pool components including pumps, filters, ladders, diving boards, slides, standard fittings, and accessories used in the installation of the pool for a period of two (2) years. Some pool parts may carry a longer manufacturers warranty and after the two (2) year expiration period these warranties would apply and will be governed by the terms of those warranties. Filter tanks will be governed by the terms of the manufacturer’s extended warranty. Corrosion, pitting, scale, or any damage caused by improper chemical balance is specifically excluded from any warranty claims. All electric components, including but not limited to lights, remote controls, circuit boards, cells, timers, freeze guards, bulbs, etc. are specifically warranted for one (1) year. Lightning strikes, surges, misuse or abuse of any type is not warrantable on electronic components.

POOL CONSTRUCTION – Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. warrants the pool construction for a period of two (2) years from the time the pool is filling with water. The pool construction shall consist of any situation directly related to the workmanship of Hilltop Pools. Concrete products are specifically not warrantable.

POOL PLUMBING – Hilltop Pools and Spas, Inc. warrants the underground pool plumbing for a period of five (5) years from the time the pool is filling with water. Freeze damage to any plumbing due to failure to winterize or improper winterizing is specifically not warrantable. Plumbing that is above the ground is warranted for one (1) year and not warranted if freeze cracks occur or if the pump has run dry without water prime, thus melting the fittings due to overheating.
